Trashy Short: Some Rules Are Made to Be Broken

I made a rule just before Christmas Break that my kindergartener had to get dressed in either his bedroom or mine because I was sick of him being distracted by the TV, causing it not to get done, me to yell, and all of us to be late for school/work.

It's backfiring; this morning he's getting dressed in my room while I'm trying to get ready.  So far he's gotten his shirt and socks on but has become distracted by hiking his leg up on my bathroom sink to show me how hairy it is.

I can't get him to stop talking; I think we're both going to be late.

  1. My youngest is 19. I watch him getting ready some mornings and wonder how he'll ever make it through life. Just getting from his bedroom to the door and putting his shoes on takes him 10 freaking minutes and it's only about 15 steps.

    1. Seriously!! It takes us 3 hours to get 10 minutes across town because that's how long it takes us to get out the door!

  2. Do we have the same kid? ;) Although, the lovely thing about mine is that he gets dressed in the kitchen. Then kitchen! He leaves his dirty underwear on the kitchen stool. ack.

    1. At least he leaves it somewhere where you don't have to do a lot of extra work to pick it up? Like, mine leave their socks all over the living room floor where I have to all BEND DOWN to pick them up. :)
